A subpoena is not an accusationThe House Oversight Committee subpoenaed this person for a deposition. A congressional subpoena is a demand for testimony, not an accusation. The committee's release says the subpoenas seek testimony related to crimes committed by Jeffrey Epstein; it does not say why each individual was chosen, and it does not allege wrongdoing by any of them.
What the committee did
| Called | Deposition subpoena, set for 7 October 2025 |
| What is established | Whether a deposition took place is not established in any record we can check. |
| Connection to the inquiry | He led the FBI in the years between the 2008 plea agreement and the 2019 federal charges. |
Note: Comey faces federal criminal charges in a matter that has nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein. A grand jury in the Eastern District of North Carolina indicted him in April 2026 over a social media post; he says he is innocent and the arraignment was delayed to January. We mention it only so a reader does not assume an Epstein connection that does not exist.
Where their income comes from
Appointed officials do not run for office, so for most of the people here there
is no campaign-finance record at all. What follows is employment, not donations, and each line
is marked with how well we could establish it.
